Crushin’ on Coronado island πŸ’–

Don’t you just love the days where you wake up with nothing on the agenda and a pep in your step?!

My friends and I spent the night at the Econo Lodge in Fallbrook, CA, a sweet little place I might add, for our best friends wedding. We woke up the next morning with the desire to explore, so we drove to San Diego and Coronado Island, which was an hour away. None of us had ever been before!

We grabbed some healthy, vegan breakfast at Fallbrook Cafe and were on our way! A++!

We were blasting the music, hands waving in the air!Β  We had to drive over a terrifying little bridge but the views of the beach were so worth it!

Driving through downtown Coronado Island to get to the beach…

Surprisingly, we found public parking behind the famous, Hotel Del Coronado.
This place is FAMOUS for having superstar guests like Marilyn Monroe, Charlie Chaplin, Greta Garbo, Rita Hayworth, Bing Crosby, and many many more! No wonder…this place is magnificent!

I recommend you take a stroll around the gardens, the walkways, the shops, restaurants, and boardwalk. Yes, this place has a boardwalk!

Past the boardwalk is the beautiful, not crowded, calm beach of Coronado Island. We spent hours here, swimming and jumping over waves. Time to enjoy the sunshine. β˜‰β˜‰

If you walk more to the left, passing the big hotels, you come upon a giant sand pile in front of what looks like part of a military base. It says no trespassing, but people were sand boarding down it and it was SO much fun!

I recommend looking around first, but go for it! You have 1 life to live!

Mmmm California dreamin…. πŸŒŠβ˜‰

Our day was full of personal injuriesΒ  while rock climbing, sneaking into hotel pools, and generally terrorizing the town (in a good way of course!) but we wouldn’t have had it any other way.

Only have 24 hours in Coronado?

Things to check out:
-Hotel Del Coronado 🏰
-Stroll down mainstreet and see the quirky little shops
-Relax on the beach
-Eat bomb Mexican food at Miguel’s Cantina!!

This day was the perfect mixture of adventure and relaxation. I recommend visiting Coronado Island if you’re visiting California and want to get away from the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles. πŸŒ†

Have you visited before? Let me know your favorite thing to do out there, I’d love to know!!
