Concepción del Uruguay, 2016
My favorite place in South America is ‘Las Moras’ en Concepción del Uruguay, a few short hours from Buenos Aires. If you are looking to take a step back from the stress and noise of busy Buenos Aires or just looking for a sweet family vacation spot, you’ve come to the right place.
As soon as you drive onto the gravely road and look to check in to your private ‘Cabana’, you are greeted by the owners’ friendly dogs and the cutest miniature horses that love to roam the property!
This place has EVERYTHING! There are adorable Cabanas and Bungalows lining the property (that have wi-fi and a pool if that’s what you’re into!) 
There are beautiful views, open spaces, and fresh farm air.
The miniature horses, mules, cows, bulls, geese, chicken, baby chicks and dogs roam the property like they own it and are SO nice to visitors!
Ask Julio, the property owner, and he might let you feed the chicken and pet the cows!
I spent a week in Entre Rios last May and I always feel recharged after. There is a sense of peace and calm that I just don’t experience in Southern California. The downtown area is less than 20 minutes away and there are tons of things to experience. There is an amazing beach, great sandwich and pizza shops (you MUST try Argentine pizza!), hot springs 3 minutes away, and a beautiful church plaza to explore!
If you would ask me to describe the people of Entre Rios, I would say: warm. There’s a sense of caring and friendliness that feels like home. The hugs from the people here and the conversations that are had over a Mate and torta fritas are some that stay with you for a lifetime.
